Amika Mobile announces Software Appliance for Emergency and Operational Alerting and New Distribution Partnership

Ottawa, September 17, 2009 - Amika Mobile announces its software appliance product for Emergency Mass Notification and Operational Alerts. Amika Mobile also announces its distribution agreement with Layer 10 Solutions, a wholly-owned subsidiary of EION.

The company's award-winning Amika Mobility Server (AMS) product ensures schools, municipalities, shopping malls, airports and other public locations remain safe. When an emergency strikes, the AMS auto-discovery capability finds anyone on the network within a campus, a building, a floor or a building zone even in a basement, regardless of whether they have pre-registered their computer, email address or phone number in a database or not. In today's mobile world, such auto-discovery is essential in saving lives. No other emergency notification system can claim this functionality-- that of finding persons whether they are connected to a wired or wireless network.

Installed in a campus environment, the AMS can be used for emergency mass notification, for warnings, advisories or informational alerts that combine text, voice clips, images or relevant video. Staff, students or visitors can be warned quickly about a fire and provided with a map to safety. For a City Operational Alerting system, alerts can be quickly issued about First Responder emergencies, public demonstrations to manage traffic, water advisories, tornadoes, etc.

SMS messages have been delayed hours and sometimes days before they are received - this is unacceptable in emergency situations.
